According to a recent conversation with Skype executives there are "no plans" for a version of Skype on the Palm Pre. "We want to see how that device sells," COO Scott Durchslag told reporters. "If [the Pre] takes off, it's something we'll consider."
The initial impressions of the [Skype] iPhone app are mixed, there are many reports of the crashes and other issues. Also with Blackberry version of the application coming out in May, so Skype must have their hands full for right now.
My opinion is that the Skype would be a nice tool to have but not something I could live without. I use GTalk, AIM and other applications for chatting and with unlimited domestic voice on the Sprint network minutes will not be an issue for me.
