News: 150,000 Palm Pre Applications Downloaded on Launch

Not only was the Palm Pre launch an overall success there were 150,000 application downloads from the Pre App Catalog on launch day.
According to a posting over at the Palm blog "Over 150,000 apps were downloaded on the first day that Pre was available." This might not seem like a massive amount but when you figure that 50,000 units were sold and there were only about 18 applications live in the store these number are pretty impressive.

Morgan estimated that over 50,000 phones were sold during the weekend while the Wall Street Journal culled numbers from analysts that estimated between 50,000 and 100,000 Palm Pre smartphones were sold."
