Palm has recently posted a new web page that provides some details on the availability of the webOS Software Development Kit (SDK). On the site, Palm said that the SDK, which will enable developers to build apps for webOS, is simply not ready yet. Palm's goal is to get the SDK to developers by the end of the summer. In lieu of the SDK's availability, Palm said that it will be expanding its early access program, which will give selected developers access to some of the tools needed to create applications for webOS.
Palm has also posted their new Open Source Portal, this website provides details on license information, how to contact the Palm open-source department, training, compliance, and libraries that are bundled on the Palm Pre for various OS versions.
