Skykook wireless has recently posted survey results from that report a really low percentage are interested in porting their applications to the webOS or Symbian devices.

The 100 developers from six different platforms including iPhone, Android, Symbian, RIM, Windows Mobile
and J2ME participated in the survey.

Not the most positive news from the survey "Developers of location aware applications are not interested in creating apps for the Palm WebOS or Symbian platforms, according to a survey conducted by Skyhook Wireless, provider of the patented hybrid location system XPS. High quality location results are key for these developers, who are using location to enable over 20 different types of applications."

Since the Palm Pre has yet to be released many developers are probably waiting to see how the device is adopted into the smartphone market. And even if the Pre is a hit it will take awhile to see wide saturation of applications.

I am not sure what they were thinking but I will be porting all or some of my applications. I wonder if the developers are just afraid to commit to development until they see how the SDK is done.
